So im at Ice Caves of Sorrow, doing the mission and the bonus. Unfortunately no one is on so I have to resort to the dreaded PUG with henchman healers. As we get to the triple catapult at the start of the mission, I start taking down the heretics. Of course Alesia and Lina and their genious AI start loading me with enchantments and the 4 summit heretics guarding the catapults start shattering them off me. I took about 80-100 dmg on each shatter, loading me with over 300 dmg. Of course I get waxed and me and the monk are having a conversation on what happened. So this asshat jumps into the convo and starts talking me down like I was a noob for dying, even though the AI and bad decision making on part of the henchies was the real reason. Afterwards this same person badgers me afterwards about it. I already dealt with alot of BS in alliance battles and I really wasn't up for taking uneeded shit. I apologized to the party leader and left the group. This same asshole has the nerve to whisper me and talk trash for leaving, I promptly ignore him. Unfortunatly, although I hate to admit it these bad PUG experiences are reoccuring more and more frequently. When I'm forced into playing a PUG I always have to fear for the worst. This is a horrible prognosis on the state of the community. To new players the only advice I can give is to find and join a very large and well structured guild (Preferrably one that only accepts older and more mature players). Dealing with the subpar players and immature little craps that gravitate towards PUGs will begin to ruin the experience for you. I'm not saying all PUGs are bad, but I will say that the majority of them will be.

Also on a closing note, the afore mentioned Asshat was playing a R/N toucher in PVE and obviously need to be introduced to hooked on phonics. I'm determining him to be one of those 12-14 year old little craps. No offense, but I really hate little kid players.

Just encountered a FULL GUILD of jerks.

I was in shing jea when it all started, I recently quit a guild for having inappropriate talk over Alliance Chat, and someone advertises a decent looking one, i accept an invitation after pming him. Turns out they were about to go to FoW, I decide to monk for them.

It took a very long tiem to make this group out of fully alliance members and friends of alliance members. The only one I had a problem with was the warrior.

Everyone from my guild said he was good, but in reality, he stunk. He had 15k armor, most likely bought for him by someone else. All through the first part, fighting the shadow beasts, he refused to consult anyone before agroing groups, and just spammed ripostes and glads def in the middle of groups, even when thye were all caster groups. I asked him to talk to me before agroing the Shadow Beasts. The conversation went as follows:

Me: Please stop agroing the groups without asking me.
Him: Hush.
Me: You hush, riposte and glads def spamming doesnt help our group at all, neither does you agroing everything. I am the monk who's keeping you alive, show some respect and actually talk before you agro.
Him: Monks that thing too highly of themselves FTW.
Me: I don't have to heal you you know.

Our other monk had a connection problem at this point, leaving me the only monk. He agros again, taking massive amounts of dmg, but miraculously i was able to keep him alive.

Me: Did you really think i was going to let you die?
Him: *nothing*

He ragequits, for no reason, because he's online when this happens.

Me(over guild chat): *his name* OMG!!!
Him: Say one more word and you're out of this guild.
(he was an officer)
Me: Wtf, I say one thing, and you ragequit and threaten to boot me for no reason?
Me: I'm a member of this guild a few hours, and am already going to be unjustly kicked from the guild, wonderful. Goodbye you 10 year old brat.

I may have been a bit of the jerk there, but he was asking for it ever since he dissed me in the first place, the one keeping him alive during the farming run.

Mera, I totally know how you feel about the aggro situation. A lot of monks are total diva's but really, it's not like we're half-assing it. We're really trying to keep people alive, and they think that just because they have a healer in the party, they're invincible.

Jerk No. 1

Anyway, a recent situation like that happened to me, involving some rude jerks and farming. I was trying to farm Scar Eater on my monk, and this group consisting of tank, necro, and nuker invite me. They want to farm all the bosses in the region, so I go along. Why not lend a hand, right?

Except, I was spec'd for two-man farming Scar Eater, meaning I don't have a res. I go in kind of hoping it won't matter because in most farming groups, people restart after one death. Anyway, why should the tank die if I'm boosting him with heals, right?

WRONG!! He aggro's two mobs as soon as we leave Vasburg Armory, and I'm just trying to keep him alive while the necro is also being attacked. It's alright, I can handle those two. Nuker is doing okay. Then the necro runs back to me and aggro's everyone on him to me! SMART MOVE!! Whew, everyone but tank survives and the two mobs are dead.

It seems no one has a res, so I run back into the town, telling them I need to grab Rebirth. As soon as I zone in, they kick me. Then the nuker's in town spamming:

"LF EXPERIENCED monk for farming!!"

I'm a bit miffed and PM him with: "Har har -_-" Immediately after, the necro starts spamming something like this in local chat:

"yea not lik esong mizuru (that's me) lolz cuz she sux <insert more typos>"

I don't say anything, but after a few spams, I try to defend myself by pointing out they aggro'd everything onto me. Then the nuker says:

"Lolz wut kind of monk doesnt bring rez lolz"

Uh, A LOT, actually (but I usually do bring res)! Some nice guy in town speaks up and tries to defend me also, but then he PMs me to tell me that they're all noobs and I shouldn't feel bad.

Jerk No. 2

During a mission in Cantha, my lvl 17 assassin finds a group with other under-lvl 20 people. This is for the mission where you have to reunite Mehnlo and Togo with another team. I pick up a lvl 19 nuker, and he's the highest level person on our team. We're all set but need one more monk, and we nab one. This monk immediately leaves after joining, and the nuker says:

"He probably saw you were all low level and left."

Har har, fine. We were ranged from lvl 16-19, and I can understand the monk's unwillingness to heal us (especially a lvl 17 assassin). We go in after we find a final person, regardless. Then this person won't shut up about our levels. So we find that the other group is just henchies.. and we keep going regardless. Our lowest level, a ranger, leaves as soon as Togo and Mehnlo are together and we kill all the afflicted in the region.. and the all mightly lvl 19 nuker keeps bashing us:

"It's kind of sad you guys are too lazy to do some extra quests to get to lvl 20."

Yeah, uh, whatever. Most of us choose to ignore this, but another assassin talks back, and shit hits the fan. They bite at each other's throats the whole mission through.

lvl 19 nuker (JERK): "Whatever you probably still take summer school, lol."
me: (interrupting) "Hey, I'm in college and *I* take summer school."

At one point, we got them to leave each other alone, and I get to talking with the other assassin:

other sin: "I hate high school..."
me: "Yeah, high school does suck. Don't worry, it'll get better after that."
lvl 19 nuker (JERK): "Haha why don't you just drop out and go work at mcdonald's!"

Okay, asshole. Stop picking on the young'uns. It's not a real solid way to boost your own pitiful ego.

Finally someone who understands, gotta hate those W/Mo with nothing but anti war skills that do nothing but spam them and, in turn, think they are leet. They think this reguardless of the fact that they're sitting there, no tanking skills at all, no armor boosters, taking MASSIVE damage from spellcasters that i have to heal. It drives me insane that on top of this, he threatens to kick me out of the guild.

I garuntee you if the guild leader was on, and had heard the whole story, he would have concurred with me. Alas, he wasnt, so I was forced to leave or stay in this crap guild.

The shield can get that much from players who don't have factions or access to the last mission as it is still a desired skin.

This happened to me one before....so I bring distortion instead of rez for unknown 55's

We are down to last battle to lose favor.
So I take a monk that invites me (silent type)
He looks experienced as he aggros all three groups of Aatxes
They all die except one, who is near death, but the others drop 3 ectos, all for me. The monk immediately runs the last Aatxe at me, hoping it will kill me. It get of my distortion,
it takes takes one swing and I get off desecrate enchants and he drops.
I run to pick up my ectos as he runs down the stairs to activate Grasp quest.
By the time they get to me, I have collected all of my drops and he just sits there for a few seconds and then drops.

Holy crap... and here I thought Guild Wars solved the problem of drop stealing with randomly assigned drops. But I guess some jerks find their way around that! >_<

O.K. without saying which guild...lets just say they are one of the best gvg guilds out there atm...you would think that when you play against a top 50 guild and your guild is in the top 100...that there would be some respect and some ingame class shown...well let me tell you...this grp of gvg'ers are not nice folks.

So, I'm warming up in Fort Aspenwood (Luxon) as an MM, 2.5 hours before the event officially starts. (keep that in mind)

One player on our team says something peculiar:

Blatant liar/idiot. I'm skeptical.

His profession is E/N. After I notice him teleporting around the corpses and exploiting them, I become a tad annoyed.

Yikes.

Fortunally, the Kurzicks provided plentiful corpses, and we win easily.

However, after the match:

Ironically he was using Fire Storm.

And this is before the event. Can't wait until it actually starts.

Remember, Kurzicks, if you see me (Syria Blackblood) on the battlefield, just ragequit and save yourself some time.

(Rabid China Girl, I had joined that group for 4-man grove farming as an SS. When I noticed the lv. 24 Golem and lv. 16 Minions, I ragequit.)

We had something like that happen to our guild. Except, our rank is 5000+ and their rank was 8. Yep, top ten guild vs us. We made them go to about five minutes, we were proud of ourselves.

i only gvg'ed like 5 times so far... the first time scarred me for life...
we ranked like 2000th 'ish ('cause we are mainly pve) and we got paired up with warmachine T.T then 2ndly time we got paired up with some guild ranked 20'ish ... sigh....

This is way I often take henchmen on missions and runs... simply because:

1) Most people discriminate mesmers in PvE
2) Henchmen don't talk back
3) They don't ragequit even after getting 60% penalty (Alesia ftw!)

Yeah, when I team I often suggest we grab a mesmer for good measure.. but nobody ever listens to me! Nobody listens to the monk... T_T Their pve popularity has dropped rapidly since Factions.

But you have no idea how noob necros got since Factions. They nerfed MMs but that doesn't stop people from playing nothing BUT MM. Dur, curse necro? What's "curses?" I'm impressed a few people actually still know what SS stands for (though not many). Yeah, great, lvl 14 minions running around all over the place... some minion master, huh?

But back to Prophecies... I returned to Tyria on my W/Mo recently to cap HH (Healing Hands), something I've been putting off for a while but.. well, Factions solo'ing just got harder so I needed it. It was great. I'd forgotten how hellish cap groups could be. People are so damn selfish about it! Even when I don't make a team, I often take charge if no one else seems to be doing so. So we leave Ember Camp and shit hits the fan...

Most of us were there for HH, with the exception of a necro looking for Obsidian Flesh and a war looking for "Charge!". Fine. But as soon as we leave, the mobs are massive.. and I suggest we go get Obsidian first, since the way to that boss has cleared up.. but the idiot who wants "Charge!" keeps drawing the other way on the mini-map, since he obviously wanted to cap his first. I run toward Obsidian, ignoring him, but then he runs in the opposite direction and aggro's everything. Great job, duche.

Idiot War: ".............."
Me: "You aggro'd three hydras on yourself."
Idiot War: "res"

The boss with "Charge!" comes surrounded with another boss and some flesh golems. I tell the group to kill the monk boss first. Most of them listen and go at the monk boss, but I notice that war beating away at the warrior boss alone. Smart one, this warrior. Some other warrior who came for HH gets all testy 'cause he didn't bring an extra cap sig for Charge. Whatever, we ignore him. Then on the way back to find Obsidian Flesh, he runs into town.

Everyone: "What the hell!? Who zoned?!"
War who zoned: "Okay, rdy. Needed another cap sig."

We go back out. Bad aggro, we all die, and surprise surprise.. the warrior who capped "Charge!" ditches us.

Jerks? I don't know. Selfish lil' twats? Hell yeah.

I have to ask; Why Why Why do people get PuGs to cap elites? Makes no sense to me. You can stack your skillbar with cap sigs and take all henchies, as long as you call targets and aggro decently, you should have no problems at all getting the caps you need. Seems like an unnecessary hurdle bringing along a bunch of people who need different things. I could see a guild group doing it, but c'mon! Not PuGs!

I guess this is why I don't have any jerk stories, cause I don't place myself in jerk situations! *shrug*
